Is there a waiting list?

Residential Living - Currently there is a short waiting list for private pay applicants. For people applying for the federally subsidized program there is also a waiting list. It is difficult to predict the length of your wait as there are many factors which can influence a person’s placement on the list.

Assisted Living - Currently there is a short waiting list for private pay applicants. For people applying under the MaineCare long-term care program, there is a waiting list. It is difficult to predict the length of your wait, but the average is 6 months to a year.

Do you have visiting hours?

No, you are free to have guests at any time.

Can I have a guest stay overnight?

Yes, we welcome you to have friends and family visit and stay the night. Many residents enjoy the company of grandchildren visiting, as well.

Can my family join me for dinner in the dining room?

Yes, we only ask for a minimum of four hours' notice. We are usually able to accommodate most requests. There is a charge for the guest meals, which is billed to the resident at the end of each month.

Is there someone in the building 24-hours per day?

Residential Living - Yes, there is an Emergency Staff member at the front desk 24 hours/day. This person is trained to respond to emergency calls and provide and/or obtain appropriate assistance.

Assisted Living - Yes, there is staff on Clark’s Terrace 24 hours/day. This includes nurses, CNA’s and medical technicians. At no time are there fewer than two staff persons available to provide care and assistance.

Is there a long-term lease or buy-in?

Residential Living - Apartments are rented on a month to month basis and can be vacated with 30-days written notice. We do ask for a security deposit which is placed in an escrow account and returned to you when you leave and providing that your apartment is in good repair.

Assisted Living - No, these studios are rented on a month to month basis and can be vacated at any time. Should it be necessary for you to leave in the middle of a month we will refund you the balance of the month once your apartment is empty.

Do you accept MaineCare?
Yes, we have a limited number of MaineCare-assisted studios for which there is currently a waiting list of approximately 6 months to one year. Priority (for a MaineCare studio) is given to current residents.
What would my apartment be like?

Residential Living - We have 9 different floor plans for you to choose from, including efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, and suites. Each apartment has a private bathroom, fully applianced kitchen and ample closet space. Some have balconies.

Assisted Living - We have 7 different floor plans for you to choose from. Most are studio apartments with combined living and sleeping space. Each has a private bathroom, kitchenette and ample closet space.

Is there parking available for my car?
Yes, we have two parking lots available for residents to use. We also provide snow removal assistance during inclement weather.
How is the food?
We received very high marks on the Food Service program during a recent resident satisfaction survey. The quality of the food is excellent and we use many fresh products from local businesses. We feel strongly that having choices is important and therefore, each meal offers many selections for you to choose from. Our dietary staff is headed by experienced preparation, production and service staff. Meals are prepared and served restaurant style.
Do you accept pets?

Residential Living - You are welcome to bring your pet. There is a pet security deposit required and each resident can have only one pet.

Assisted Living - Sorry, there are no pets allowed at Clark’s Terrace.
